If you were going to do this, then you should have just bought a larger BBK with floating rotors and race pads.

The stock braking system was designed to perform under street-duty use, and occasional track days. (keeping in mind that they are not a substitute for a true BBK)

Complaining about the stock brakes (with small rotors and standard duty calipers) is not fair.

Anyone could replicate what you did.

Just drive the car as hard as you possible can (lap after lap)...until it falls apart due to the severe stress and intense heat.

I don't really understand why you are trying to make BMW the bad guy here.

I race occasionally in NASA GTS (not with this car), which I share only so I can say I know how to move a car around the track. The brakes on my E90 with relatively crappy race pads (HT10) and SRF work just fine for my needs. They're not as accurate and precise as a good BBK, but they stop the car very well on slicks lap after lap over 20min sessions. Spa is not the most demanding on brakes (well maybe turn 1 and 19) if you carry speed in the corners, so I am curious as to why/how you set them on fire. How may laps? Even race cars have difficulty driving 10/10ths for hours at a time.

This is being discussed in the other thread OP referenced, so I will close this one.
