Car sounds crazy with this set up so I can't image if a blower was added to the mix. I know CA smog is strict, what x-pipe set-up can you legally run over there that's still worth getting?

As far as I know, both the x pipe and SC are illegal here. That said, you dont have to get smog check very often either. By the time I do need a smog check, this car will be long gone Im sure (sad to even think that).

You cannot run any aftermarket mid-section in California legally unless it is C.A.R.B. approved.

SC are illegal too???? Man, those CA liberals are really killing you guys over there. Its nuts you already thinking of getting rid of the car yet still are modding it out. Let me know when you do get the SC and exhaust bc I want to hear a video.

Malek I took your advise on another thread and picked up a set of RS Tecknic spacers 18/15... im not lowered so will I still be able to run 255/275 tires when I'm due up for a new set? Don't want to rub but I def do want slightly larger rubber.

For those of you that installed the exhaust on your own, how the hell did you connect the connecting pipes to the exhaust? The clamps that came with the exhaust seem pretty sturdy and I used them. Kept cranking on the bolt until it was pretty tight but the pipe kept moving around. Is there a specific way the clamp goes on or something else I'm missing?
Thanks in advance |

I did the Megan exhaust a while ago, but today I added the Turner Test Pipes and am loving it! Best mod for the money for sure

Where are you laying down the dynamat? I have seen E46 posts that lay it on top of the plastic tray.

I removed the trunk access cover and installed dynamat in the entire exposed area. This includes from the seat transition to the tray, the tray itself, and behind the plastic cover on the trunk entry. It did help out overall, but the Megan's drone still comes through. I couldn't deal and sold mine a few weeks later. Currently stock and I can't hear my exhaust at all with the dynamat installed ...whisper quiet. Trying a modified OEM unit this weekend and I hope it hits the mark.

Currently running a full catless Megan. The sound is intoxicating unfortunately it drones so I think I will be getting rid of it. Not bad at all for short drives but not something you want to make a long trip with.

Maybe my tolerance for sound is high because my megan with TP's doesn't bother me at all. My cruising engine speed is always 3k so maybe this has something to do with it. 450 mile drive (highway, mountain back roads, city) this weekend and the lady and I never said a a peep about drone being a concern.
