Scuffed up plastic side trim. How to buff it out? (pic)

It's the black plastic strip by the rear of the door (see pic). It's looked scratched like that since the day I picked up the car. The dealer probably applied the wrong cleaning product to it (I stupidly opted for their wax protection package on delivery). How can I get rid of all those tiny scratches and make this peice look smooth and shiney?
Sorry for the crappy cellphone pic but you get the idea.

Just a light polish will work fine on those exterior trim pieces. Something along the lines of Meguiars 205, Menzerna 106FF/85RD. Use this along with a white polishing pad on a Porter Cable and you will be fine. Make sure to tape off both sides of the trim while you are working on it.

I've had scratches on my shadowline trim. Buffs out pretty easily.
