NASA GTS-4 Build {VS Motorsports}

We know this is not an E92 M3 but we thought some of you may like this build. All the work has been done by us in house.

This E46M3 came to us in many different forms through our relationship with our customer. It started out as a show car where the owner took to local events around the Chicago land area and eventually a supercharged time attack car. The owner who also used to competitively go kart started to get the itch to move in to road racing and that is when his car began to transform into a full time track car. This winter he decided to turn it into a GTS-4 car in NASA club Racing. The supercharger was taken off and the the car stripped down.

The car was brought to us with the entire interior stripped out along with some of the sound deadening taken out. We are building an 8-point cage out of chromoly with a nascar style driver side. The car is also having gussets on the A/B pillars. Along with the cage we are removing excess wiring, reinforcing the rear sub frame, replacing bushings with solid/ spherical bearings, heater core delete and more.

As more work is completed we will do our best to keep you guys updated.

First day at the shop getting wrapped in protective plastic.

Main Hoop Mounting plates

Main Hoop Mocked up in place

Main Hoop and Front bars dropped down to weld completely 360 degrees all around

Rear X-brace being welded in.

NASA is a club racing organization. Which stands for National Auto Sport Association. This M3 will be racing in their German Touring Series.

Have a couple updates for everyone. The front gussets are made and the heater core delete is on the way. Below are a few pictures of the gussets and plugs for the cooling system.

Front Gussets

Passenger side tacked into place

Cooling system plugged where it would normally go to the heater core.

Yep its going to be solid everywhere, engine, trans, rtabs, and sub frame. Then even the suspension will be spherical bearings. So its going to be one tough ride.

Just a few small updates. All the unnecessary wiring is out of the car, DME has been sent off to our tuner, front gussets in and our under drive pulleys have been installed. We will be working on re wrapping all the wiring up nicely, and putting the motor back together. Hopefully within the next couple weeks we have all the other parts we need to finish up the car before paint.

Yes were going to use the Oscar Velez tune, and were going to match the cars interior color to the exterior color.
