GoPro w/BMW connected drive/APP

Greetings,

I just found that I can use my GoPro through the connected drive and apps section of the iDrive interface....so cool, I did not know I could do this.

I just used the ad-hoc wifi connection with my iPhone and then open and control through connected drive..

Here is a test video I made./////// feel free to skip ahead to about 1:34..that's where it get's good...oh, and play loud too !!

minimum to begin with now that all Hero 2 and 3's can be controlled with your iphone or android phone. If you can control it with idrive, there's really no need to buy that remote any more.....unless you need it during "action" events where you don't want to carry your phone around to control that thing like on a bike or in a boat.

Only works if you have BMW Apps in Connected Drive right? I have navigation but no BMW Apps so I'm SOL unless I pay to have a 3rd party.

yes bmw apps is needed. it can always be retrofitted as long as u have a combox. I had it in my old 2008 335.

[edit] u have a 2013. it should be super easy to activate it. you should contact patryk at bimmertech

Yes, correct you need this option : 6NR BMW Apps

If that is or was loaded into the car at the point of sale from the dealer (or perhaps could be coded in now ?), then it will show up. I was actually really surprised it worked to be honest.

Using the GoPro is weird though, I have yet to capture any good footage of something cool....for now I am just trying to learn how to use the GoPro, where and what locations are best. I have combed through countless videos on YouTube where people way more talented than I could ever be are capturing terrific footage and then correctly editing it and adding sound tracks, titles, etc.....Oh, and one other item - I think the BMW app supports more than one GoPro at a time (I think) you can cycle through the GoPro's you have connected via wirelessl ad-hoc connection to your phone. But. for now I only have one GoPro so cannot verify is this is true or not.

Dang ! We'll done sir ! Very nice video - btw, how did you capture the foot work ? I assume another GoPro and then how or what video editing software did you use ?

Really nicely done video there. What track was that ?
