Smile Review of Gintani/OE tuning

I wanted to share my experience and results from my visit with Alex at Gintani and Jeremy at OE Tuning. Last weekend I visited Gintani and met Alex, Raz and the rest of the crew. Really great guys, they showed me a few projects they have in the works, got a tour of their new shop that will open soon and we shot the shit while Alex installed the following upgrades.

Gintani X-pipe with hfc
Gintani Sport exhaust (ceramic coated)
Gintani Pulley

We did an initial dyno pull for a baseline and got 330.7 and I decided to come back the next weekend and do an air filter and see what Jeremy’s tune can do. The drive home I noticed a huge difference with just those upgrades. The car pulled much harder and the exhaust note of the sport is unreal.

So yesterday after sitting in an hour and half of L.A. traffic I arrived at Gintani where Alex put in an air filter and Jeremy worked his magic. After a 10 minute cool down period (the time it took to strap down the car on the dyno and put in an air filter) my car put down over 360 and with each pull the car gained a bit more! We ended up with 363.4 and a strong increase in torque throughout the power band. Needless to say I am extremely happy with the numbers and the car pulls unbelievably hard. My neighbor who is a car enthusiast got a ride when it was stock and I gave him a ride last night and he was amazed how much the car has changed.

Big thanks to the guys at Gintani and Jeremy at OE Tuning. Very cool guys that know their shit. I also got to meet Tightie, Drew, niterider and Alex gave me a ride in niterider’s Gintani supercharged M3. All I can say is WOW. That car is scary fast, so now I know what my next upgrade will be.

Here's my dyno..

You seeing any ill effects of the pulley (loss of power to accessories)?

That is correct. The 40whp increase came from adding an air filter and Jeremy's tune. I'll let you figure out which one gave me the biggest increase between the two...

Guys, these numbers are either BS or OE Tuning rocks the world. (Only other explanation, the old air filter was EXTREMELY dirty.)

If I can get 40 WHP from tune and filter - I am in!!!

I can assure you that OE Tuning and Gintani are 100% BS free . What you need to remember though is that each car responds differently to mods, and each car comes in with different gas, etc.

Based on his baseline pull, the car was not happy with the stock tune, so there was a huge improvement in power. Jeremy was able to do that with my car as well when I was running the AA tune. I think Jeremy usually gets 20-25 whp with his tune if the car is running well on the stock tune.

You really can't go wrong with OE Tuning .

Ha. I saw that shit storm, stayed away. But wait, I thought that was Powerchip. Is Powerchip, Jeremy, OE Tuning, ESS the same?
