But, for $7k (with Procede) in my pocket, and no fuel pump headache, 1/2 a second slower time would not take me to BMW...assuming I liked the g37.

Anyway, I still think that the 335 is probably the best combo of feel and performance out there...
Never had a fuel pump or overheating problems so far with my 335i....13,000+ mi.

btw -- I came from driving a modded, fully loaded '04 G35 Sedan and a fully loaded '03 FX35; great cars, imho...I almost got another G35 (2007) until I drove the 335i.

A lot of your posts since then have been so one-sided it's hard to tell that you ever drove an Infiniti....

Here are a few other things to note:

As a few people have pointed out here, resale is actually a little better on the G.

Although I'm sure the free maintenance is great, I was surprised how much other things cost. I stopped by the bimmer dealer with my friend who has a 335i, and they were going to charge him $40 to switch in his winter wheels, and $80 to store the summer wheels for 1 season. My dealer does both for free. Albeit, these types of things vary quite a bit from dealer to dealer.

And last but not least, not all G37's are being sold at MSRP.

Or put them on a scale. Neither will seem appealing, but the G37 is down right laughable.

how often do you have to change the oil on the honda with it's 4 qt capacity?

I'd bet it's at least twice as often, and what's your time worth to drop your car off at the shop an extra time

Yes, I really like the Infiniti vehicles...no problems, they drive fairly well, they're fast, they have excellent high-tech features, they're safe (notice my G35 accident pic...thank God and Infiniti I came out without a scratch!!! ), and they come "close" to the overall driving experience of the BMW for much less $$. But, in the end, they still don't drive like a Beemer. My Infinitis pics below...

You think you can get $3-4000 off the MSRP on e92??? I don't think so.

Yes, the mantenance program, mileage, feel of the BMW, probably similar performance, and NO FUEL PUMP issues with the Infiniti...
You can do ED for $600 over invoice. That's a $2-3K savings right there.

This is true, all the talk of discounted 335 are SEDANS not Coupes. you want a BMW 335 coupe in my area you pay sticker or walk, simple as that.

Yes, I do find that interesting that the 335i Coupes are still in such high demand with short supply and that they're basically charging MSRP when the MY '08s are coming in the next few months. When I ordered in Sept., '06, my CA said MSRP, then I negotiated $1,000 off, then $2,000 off, and when the deal was done, I got $2,500 off MSRP (~ $1,700 over invoice) + ss pedals and window tint thrown in at n/c.

sflgator, I actually like the first gen G35 sedan (like you had) better than when Infiniti gave them a facelift in '05.

the cost/interval determinant is not the vehicle make, rather the type of oil/filter used.
i perform my own oil changes for all my cars, honda or bmw. filters are about the same, oil is the same by volume. my e90 uses approx. 2 extra qts., so it cost a bit more. only a bit.

but, lets leave honda out of this discussion.

the problem with the new 'g', in my opinion, is what i consider a flawed design. too much stroke to achieve displacement. too much displacement for a v6 layout. i suspect these engines will be short lived if tuned beyond stock.

plus the overall design seems out of whack. again, my opinion.

if you disagree, you can eat me.

Agreed. I do like how raw the G35 feels - even though it can be a little rough and notchy for a daily drive.

It's nice to see that you liked them as well. And I'm glad you came out of that accident with no problems!

BTW, that's a nice looking coupe and I really like those wheels, too!

When you get your G37, watch out when challenging a 335i...a stock 335i will most likely beat you but a PROcede-equipped 335i will totally walk you, and you can't tell if he's got the PROcede! Good luck with your Infiniti G37...looks like it will be a great car for you.

haha! Too true. My buddy just picked up an auto 335xi. So unless he's willing to brake torque the hell out of that, I don't think he'll be pulling any 4.8 0-60s, which would hopefully give me enough time to keep things interesting.

I went to test drive the G35 coupe a month ago after my 335I was total loss. ( maybe I will give the G35 a try) The Lexus is out as I tested drive it before.

After tested drive the G35 ..... I went straight to the BMW dealer three blocks away and drove home a new fully loaded 335I. At the moment I get in the 335i again ... my face

I like the exterior look of the G35 but the clock in the car and plastic feel just
turn me off.

The BMW 335i just feel right in every ways for me but the infinity G37 is a great car.

It your Money.... just get what u like.
My advice is if u like the infinity don't test drive the 335i ...
