how do you bed these pads? someone said periodically, do you just do the bedding process again even if you had them on for a while?
My rotors are bit worn from the last pads I had and don't want to change them yet but I want to use these Pagid sets. Can I run a track day without smoothing the rotors? or do you absolutely think I have to do it everytime I change the pads? I have stock pads for street use. Thanks all for comments.

i understand the bedding procedure but unsure how they would require it to be repeated once the pads and the rotor have met and made friends. they are mated to each other properly. how is that required again?

I think the answer is that it depends. I've used Pagid on rotors with StopTech Street Performance pads, and it worked fine. Others have used Pagid on rotors with OE pads, and I don't think there was any issues. Other compounds, it's hard to say.

is the rebedding assuming that you are switching back and forth between pads? if so that makes sense i was thinking you were rebedding pads that where being used continuously.

I think that the transfer of pad material only occurs with higher temperatures. If you are using for daily driving (frequent cold brake rotors) then the pad material will eventually wear off of the rotor face. When I ran Cool Carbons as my DD and track pad (not so great), I would have to re-bed every month or so when they would start squealing again. I know that my Pagids will scrub my rotors clean within a couple of days after track events so I can put back the street pads and re-bed them back in.

Thanks Richard. Are you talking about the RS29 or RS19 above?
Do you just keep them in between track events, or do you change them out? Thanks.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Mine is a track car so I keep them in there. However changing pads on the StopTech is very easy and can be done within 5-10 min each corner. And no issues with compatibility between Street Performance and Pagid pads.

I have 3 events on my Pagid Yellows now and I have to say that I love these pads. Compared to my previous Mintex F3Rs the wear is minimal, and the performance is excellent. No longer loud on the street either.

Are they wearing equally? I think you were having issues before with uneven pad wear no??

Seems to be but hard to tell for sure. At any rate I love how they perform and have a spare set of fronts on hand. How is your suspension? My brother is getting JRZs for his Cayman S. I am happy with my AST 4200s I picked up from Harold.

Suspension so far is great, but I have not had a dry track date yet to really see how they perform. Hopefully soon though.

Just a quick feedback. Recently I drove a E46 with Pagid Yellows and it was virtually quiet on the streets... therefore I suspect that if you have a clean rotor w/o any other pad materials, the pads should work quietly.

So which are we talking about again. RS29 or 19?
And what's the difference? Interested in third party reviews as well. Last edited by kaiv; 04-26-2012 at 10:38 PM.. |

RS29 and RS19 are very similar. The latter has slightly less initial bite and coefficient of friction. According to Pagid, probably only pro drivers would be able to fully appreciate the difference. For M3 OEM shape only RS19 is available. ST-60 only RS29. ST-40 both are available. Quite a few guys will be getting their group buy order soon.
