I just spoke with my CA, and he told me my M3 is at the VPC (as of 2/29). He also said that the VPC is allowed to release the M3's prior to the March 8th launch date. He didn't have anything in writing, but this is what he was told. So, if my car is ready to leave the VPC early next week, I should have my M3 before March 8th!

or maybe the VPC is authorized to release it to your dealer prior to the 8th and your dealer will release it to you on the 8th since this date has been tagged as the official release date.

That could be possible. My CA said he wants me to get the car as soon as possible, that way I get my car and he gets his commission! He should receive something in writing this week from BMW NA regarding the policy on releasing cars to customers before 3/8.

Dealers are not allowed to release their cars until March 8th. If they do so prior to that date, BMWNA will slap them with some sort of penalty.

Mine got to the VPC on 2/28 too. It will be at the dealership early next week. I can't wait. ONE week left.

ETA to reach port is 3/10
VPC is close to the port so figure 3/10-3/13
Reaches my dealership @ around 3/14 or 3/15

That's what I thought. Who knows, maybe they changed the policy on the March 8th launch. It's possible that the car may arrive at the dealership this week, but I won't be able to pick it up until the 8th. If I find out anything this week, I'll post the info.

I am very confused. I just got a call from my CA, and he is not clear about the March 8th. Are the cars due AT the dealer on March 8th, or are they due TO BE RELEASED for shipping to the dealership on March 8th. If that is the case, than they will NOT get to the dealers till the 10th or so. He was very upset that they wouldn't even give him a ship date. All they told him is that my car is the VPC, and the ship date is TBD. Anyone else have any more info.

That makes sense. So, they will keep the cars in the back, or they won't even have them. I will be out of town that week, but if my car will be released on March 8th, I will buy a plane ticket and come home for the weekend to collect her. I am trying to be sure before I buy the ticket than find out that it will be released from the VPC on March 8th, not the dealer. That means it will not get to the dealer till at least March 10th.

Xcellere was told his would leave VPC on 3/3 to be at the dealer in time for final prep and release on 3/8.

To make it simple: ALL cars currently at the VPC will be released from the VPC tomorrow, March 3rd, and are to be sold to customers no earlier than March 8th. Whether your car gets to the dealership prior to or after the 8th depends on how far the dealership is from the VPC. My dealer is an hour and a half drive from the VPC, so it'll at the dealer late tomorrow.
