I love people that spend the time to reply to a thread, and call repost, or newby, but don't answer the question. Expected release in the US is March of '08.

So i'm assuming the release of the Sedan in Europe is planned for the fall of 2008??
And the U.S. actually wont see the Sedan until 2009??

The first customer cars probably wont hit US soil until late March or early April. I am at the top a list and have an estimated allocation date of April 30th.

There is a rumor that both the Sedan and Coupe will be released within the same time frame in the US. As well as the 6MT and DCT options. I guess we will see though.

I think they are going to be all different colors like in Europe. Some were SSII, others were red, and yet others were in fact Jerez.

Does anyone know what would have happened if Superman would have fought Hitler?

I think US production is going to start around March and customer deliveries will start in June or July of 2008.

It's all conjecture at this point.

What I really hope is that M-DCT is available on the first US-bound M3's.

M-DCT and begin of US delivery are totally independent. Most US M3s will have 6MT anyway so there is no reason why BMW would align the sales start. Remember: The only place where the M5 is available as 6MT is the US...

I doubt that...unlike the real M3 fans on this forum, most US customers are badge whores who will want the DCT. The DCT will outsell 6mt in the US.

Can you say STEREOTYPE? Not only a stereotype but a stongly insulting one as well.

-I am in the US
-I am a real M3 fan
-If I pull the trigger it will only be with M-DCT
-I am not a badge whore
-M-DCT will likely outsell 6MT in the US

Sure there are folks like you describe in the US but there are many all around the world as well.

That would be something of an irregularity for BMW. New cars usually arrive in March or the normal September timeframe.

Its looking like March for the M3.

Wow...So now when you you buy an "M" you have to "ok" it with people like you to make sure you have the correct intentions. I wish I was a "Real" M3 fan.

I'm really hoping for Mar/Apr delivery. Got my fingers crossed.

Rumor is that DCT will come with the M3 to the US.

I also believe DCT will outsell 6MT.

I also believe it will be a 3K or more option

Anyone have sales figures for 6MT vs. SMG for the E46? I think MT was still the more popular option. No? If so, I wonder what BMW will do to increase the uptake of the M-DCT for this go-round?

My apologies to the OP. It was 12:30 in the morning and I was tired and grumpy. Welcome to the forums.
