CTS-V Rapes the 'Ring 7:59.32!!
http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/09/g...fe-in-7-59-32/
Green Hellraiser: Caddy CTS-V storms Nordschleife in 7:59:32 Posted May 9th 2008 2:45PM by Alex Nunez Filed under: Sedans/Saloons, Sports/GTs, Cadillac, GM The badassery going in inside the supercharged LSA V8 stuffed under the domed hood of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V appears to translate well on the Nordschleife's graffiti-marked tarmac. GM announced today that John Heinricy exercised his right to life, liberty and the pursuit of a record time by wheeling a CTS-V with production-spec performance mods around the Nürburgring's north loop in 7:59:32, which is believed to be the "fastest documented lap time" for a production sedan. Even if that turns out not to be the case, it's pretty freakin' fast. GM shot video of the whole thing, which should be released in the coming days. Somewhere, Nissan engineers with furrowed brows are shoving the GT-R's 3.8L V6 into a G35 sedan... Dunno bud. If you're referring to the look of the suspension set up, the rear looks pretty close to what we could expect in production. The front is out of shape due to braking probably. Perhaps a little bit of a camber tweak too.
Question is, have they conquered that wheel hop under acceleration? |

^^^ haha
I was just going to post this. Very good laptime. The car commands respect even if the design isnt exactly up to scratch. It's not terrible though

What about the Loaded CSL, or does that not count since it had "mods"

There's a 1.3% difference between a lap of 7:59 and 8:05.

I don't think it's really fair to compare this to the M3 CSL as that is a whole other beast in itself.
Personally, I love the new CTS interior and overall looks. This car is going to be very hard to beat for the price. |

Even if it beat the m3, I highly doubt a strong lap time is going to get ppl to buy a caddy....btw i don't think caddies are looking to turn their cars into performance machines to track...no offense but wrong demographic....finally though has GM done something right? (I want my mp3.....lol)

nice. I am sure with the right driver the M3 can match that.
