Let's not make this into a political discussion. There is a section for that I believe.

If your salesperson has been selling BMW's for a while, he/she should give you a date (+/- a day) of when the car should get to the dealership.

I ordered my car just last Friday and it hasn't even started production. And yet, each day has seemed to already slow down. Is this normal? :P

Just got in contact with the dealer.
About 10 days, he says.
After 10 years, 10 days shouldn't be too hard. . .

Right? . . .

Cardiac Electrophysiology is a very cool field of medicine! (I'm wanting to be an Interventional Cardiologist). All the hard work does pay off in the end. Congrats on your M3 order, hope you enjoy it

Never posted

Been lurking for years, and finally registered. Now finally posting because you people are too funny and I couldn't help myself.

Congrats on your order! Not that many days to wait when you're working too hard every day.

I personally waited a few years after training, then thought about getting my M3, then discovered there was no '07 model year and had to wait for the '08. Couldn't wait any longer so leased the E93 335 sitting in front of me. (Should have waited or picked up an E46)

Now my lease is up the first week of August and I'm about to order my 2011 E90 M3 in JB with 6MT and ZCP. I've even got a few mods picked out for the first year. And if the wheels don't hook me, I've already got plans for replacing them.

What I really wish for is time. It would be nice to go for ED and take a week off work. Oh well, next time.

Wow I'ma little ashamed reading these stories...I bought my M in about a week strictly to turn over some profit...but then on the drive home from the dealer everything changed and it's MINE!

I did get a real good deal on a pretty much new car.

Hi Skrawny, m3post's anesthesiologist here saying congrats on almost finishing all that hard work as you embark on your illustrious career. I can't tell for sure, but you may have started your schooling and training before me - I started medical school in 2000 at age 22 and obtained my board certification as a specialist in 2009.

I bought my first BMW, an 08 e90 335, to celebrate finishing residency and added my 2010 e90 M3 March 30th after fully buying into my practice. The M3 seriously rocks, even compared to my twin turbo 335, which is very competent. The versatility of the M and the sheer performance will blow you away.

As for the 80 hour weeks and the Q4 call, soon you'll be wondering what the heck you're doing if you're working past noon and figuring out how to spend all your vacation time. And if you're not now, you will become VEHEMENTLY conservative when you find out what its like to turn over fully half of what you earn to the government - Cheers!!

Congratulations and enjoy your M.

Update

My dealer said it would "be here on the 27th."
When I called him today, he said "it was placed on the car-carrier on the 27th," and that it would be here "some time this week."

I don't think my wife really understands why I'm going nuts. She said, "you've waited this long, what's a few more days?"

I explained that it's like when you've had to go to the bathroom for the last few hours and you're at the point where you're unbuttoning your pants. That is NOT the time for someone to say "you've waited this long, surely you can wait a little longer"

I have done a search, and there is plenty of info about how to track the BMW from production through the ship dropping it off at port. Is there any way to track it from there?

What are all you doctors doing here? Don't you know you're supposed to be getting Porsches?

J/K, congrats to all of you. It's pretty cool that you recognize the M3 for what it is. I hope your future is as bright as it has been for physicians before you.

Cheers.

E90 M3 in Jerez and am now being told to expect an August delivery at the earliest, possibly Sept/Oct! I am absolutely gutted as they had originally told me late July - and im in Europe

E-mail from my dealer:

"Thursday evening or Friday, which is best for you?
Oh, yeah - it just came off of the truck.
Man, it's beautiful."

If I get all of my cases done in time today, I'm there!
