Problems with balancing weights

They just won't stay on...

I have 20" DPE S-20s wrapped in a set of Hankook V12s. Ever since I made the switch to the V12s, the balancing weights have been consistently falling off. I've had to get them balanced three times now at 2 different places. They've used different weights every time and even tried to heat them up with a lighter before putting them on and letting them cool down for a while so they could adhere properly.

Doesn't anybody else have this problem? Doesn't anybody have suggestions on how to fix it?

I recall a friend of mine using superglue along with the adhesive for it to stay on because he had the same problems as you. Could be worth a try!

Mark the location of the weights and reapply them with super high strength 3M double sided tape. Make sure to clean with alcohol or even acetone depending on the finish before you apply. The tape that comes on wheel weights is typically junk.

Edit: Maybe something like this: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...apes/VHB-Tape/

From experience some wheel finishes are more friendly to wheel weights than others. I guess your DPEs aren't very friendly

Track guys use aluminum tape over the weights. That works really well and is the simplest/easiest thing you can do.
