Very interesting but I will probably not buy an iForged wheel ever again. They make great products but try dealing with their customer service. It;s horrible. It's nice if you can go through an authorized dealer but in my experience those guys don't stay delears for long because it just gets increasingly frustrating to deal with them. Long delays on delivery, can't ever get in touch with them if you actually need to get customer service, and they act like they couldn't care less about you or your problem as long as they already got your money.

about as pointless as CF interior trim, but it looks great IMO.

Not a relevant point. The car comes with dash trim. I have to chose one or the other, and they pretty much all look fine. There is no lightweight CF dash option. If there was one, I would go/pay for it. In this case, one is going out of his way to add weight (and probably cost) to the wheel by sticking these things on there. And then there is the Vorsteiner edition Brembo calipers (or whatever they are called) with the CF strip attached. Now, that really did crack me up. I showed it to a buddy who is really into his tuned twin-turbo S4. These guys are a pretty tight community around here and talk about tuning all day. He laughed even harder than I did and said "that is exactly what's wrong with BMW folks; they don't know how to tune". (Not that I agree with his sentiment there or anything as these wheels are probably sold/bought for all sorts of cars.)

What do they weigh??? I couldn't find any useful specs on their site, but maybe I missed it.

At the risk of offending Audi owners, it's pretty funny to hear that comment. BMW owners start off with an exceptional base automobile, then tack on stupid parts. Audi owners start with a mediocre core design and spend fortunes making them faster than other Audis but slower than the most basic modded BMWs.
None-the-less, I love Audis. I just know better than to try to mod them. They still drive like there's a dead horse tied to the front of the car, no matter how many mods you make. The Audi clubs are full of really cool people, though, and I've had some of my most fun track days with the Audi club.

Agreed on all counts. You might have angered Footie though!

One thing I admire about these guys that they really are friendly and supportive. My buddy says people with scan tools list themselves on one of the forums, and if you have problem or want to modify a setting on your ECU but don't know how, you can just email someone on that list, and he will take the time and help you out. When I dragged him to the track last Fall, he was looking for a helmet, and he emailed that list, and in 10 minutes, located a helmet he could borrow from someone he didn't know.

The VAG tool is great, coz you can change so many different settings on the car without ever trying to talk to the "techs" at the stealership.

Yup, I still have my VAG which I use to do OBD scans on other cars since I don't have the Audi anymore. That thing pays for itself after just a couple of uses.

I wish something like VAGcom existed for BMWs at an affordable price. Can't say enough good things about that Audi crowd.

Oh, and sorry for the threadjack.

hey, you two, I am still keeping my VAG car: 93 jetta. grrr I was working on it today. Pain in the ass to change Spark plugs on that car. But none-the-less, it is a great car, still runs with 227k miles on it. To go back to the wheels, it is as pointless as-with all due respect-JLevi E92 335i (the red one). Too much money pissed down the drain for no reason. It is not enjoyable anymore. And for what?

I get your point on CF gaining weight when a layer is added to the rim. But Not everyone is trying to save weight. Im getting 20" rims with cf from 360 forged and they are lighter than stock 19s so im happy with the outcome. Yes I could have saved a little weight without the CF but I dont care. If I wanted to track my car I would get 18s or something like that. I also wouldnt have bought a convertible. Also, the little amount of CF on the brembo caliper is pointless but I think it looks good. Its cosmetic. trim is cosmetic.

Seems like 90% of the time I actually see carbon fiber on a car, it's being used in an ironic way.
