Brakes and Tyres

It's time for a complete set of rubber and brakes, not gonna be cheap!

M3 E92, has had Continentals on which I really didn't like or think suited the car and am hoping a set of Michelins Sports will sort that.

Also for a sensible price but to upgrade the brakes is it worth sticking to BMW disks and upgrading the pads?

Love some advise as to best bang for my buck (£ actually).

Usgage is fast road/occasional track.

appreciate your inputs.

Michelin pilot super sports. Better and cheaper than the OEM PS2s!

Camskill have the Michelin Super sports at a good price. £210 the fronts £260 the rears.
Plus a fuel card worth £50 back from Mich.
Best road tyre there is for the M3 by quite a margin IMO.

I second the Michelin PSS choice.

When my Conti's were done I even bought PSS and went up to 275 rear and 255 fronts. These are great tires for the price.

I am thinking of doing this as well. Any advantages or disadvantages you see/feel going one size up?

Depends on what you are looking for...the car is already exceptionally well balanced on the standard sized tyres - I guess its possible that its even better on larger aspect tyres but I suspect that an objective test would show that it isn't and more likely the opposite.

Have Camskill got PSS back in stock now? I remember checking a month back but they didn't have stock of rears I think at the time

I had some fronts delivered a week or two ago....the rears I had about 6 weeks ago.
I guess it might be worth a ring before ordering.

There's plenty of grip on the stock size PSS. No need to go up on size.

i also will be getting new tires soon. I'm considering the Nexes N7000. i've heard great reviews and wont need a winter set.

all other high performance tires are to soft and burn out quickly.

Thanks for all your replies re Tyres, pretty clear what is the best choice.

But what about brakes, BMW Disks and put some better pads in?

Bridgestone RE-11 are by far the best tires I've come across!

I am very happy with my set of Vredesteins. They grip brilliantly on dry pavement and very very well in the wet. According to reviews, they are practically PS2 equivalents for less $$$. I can't say, but they are a great set of tires.

I'm looking for a set to replace my E82 and could not believed the cost is about $300 difference between the two sets. My current set of PS2 is almost 29K miles and soon to be replace and Super Sport last even longer than PS2.

I don't normally get too excited by tyres or make unrealistic claims about tyre performance but subjectively the PSS are quite significantly better than the PS2 which was already the benchmark in tyre choice for the M3.
Best bang per buck for an improvement in grip, handling, balance and behavior when pushed beyond its limits. Saving a few $s on a far less able tyre would only make sense if you never push your car.

Any thoughts on Brakes?

Seems people slate M3 brakes generally which always surprises me, is this just to bolster the aftersales market in non BMW brakes?

So what advise do people have, stick to BMW Disks and Pads?

or BMW disks and upgrade the pads?

really appreciate your feedback on this.

As for brakes, OEM for street use, performance friction for the track.
