I love that finish. When I took the factory tour on my ED trip last month we asked the tour guide about the matte finish. He wasn't shy with his opinion about how delicate the finish is. He even said driving in the rain should be avoided.

Guess that means it won't be a big seller here in Germany

Looks great. But I prefer it with the Black 19' OEM that you get on the M3 edition.

Is it true that frozen gray is so fragile? That's disappointing because I really like it.

That's retarded. Why would they even make this color if that's the case. Not sure how this color is more "delicate" than the other finish. I don't think it has a clearcoat, or it might have a "matte" clearcoat. I don't think BMW would make a paint that costs $5,500 more than the regular colors and you can't drive it in the rain.

Neither do I, it looks like they stopped half way through the paint process.

$5,500 Individual option if BMW NA approves your order.

I'm just passing on what the tour guide/engineer said on the factory tour. Since there hasn't been much feedback on the matte finish durability I can only take the guy for his word. A matte finish by nature is going to be delicate and you can't just wax it.
