Idrive Controller

I drop off my car to BMW this morning for my leaking tranny and walk around the lot, i notice the 6 Gran tour and 5 has a black chrome or even greyish color idrive knob. Does anyone know if this will fit our e9x m3?

This is a huge shifter here. Total X5/X3 shifter size. I would like to know if this would fit an E70 X5. This would look sweet with an already dark/dark wood interior.

What you see is the ceramic controls. I am not sure if the actual controller is different but you may be able to swap it out.

saw that idrive 5 months ago when i was lurking around MCkenna BMW... so i had the parts guy check it out on how much it would cost... the guy quoted me almost $600 bucks keep in mind thats with a discount not retail... then i had him run the regular one from an 09 model and quoted me Less than 250... .LOL

Damn that sucks the Ceramic Idrive controller looks good!

I have shifter envy....lol. What's so special about "ceramic" part of it? What it operates like ceramic brakes?

The iDrive controller is a single unit, not sure you simply pull off the knob and replace. Have not seen a positive answer on issue of fitment, not sure it is a straight swap with the E9x M3 unit...

Here is the F10 unit part numbers for the F10...
