since there's no reason for NE to play their starters for any reason other than statistical records, the question on everybody's mind is:

can NE's backups beat the Giants in week 17?

Just like there's no reason for them to run scores up. Still, the starters will be playing for a couple quarters and by that time, the Giants would have put their backups in.
