My new Vorsteiner GTS3 Hood
** EDIT: lots of questions about the wheels.. look here for all the info you need: **
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=346407 Thanks to Cal @ JLEVI SW for getting me this hood. From order to ship it only took like 4 business days, Cali to Mass.. That's the fastest I've ever received a part that I ordered from this forum. The hood arrived perfectly boxed and in perfect shape. I had it fitted and installed at a local body shop.. sansossio Autobody in Natick, MA.. Phil Sansossio jr. did all of the work. and I think he did a great job. IMHO, he got the hood fitting pretty much as good as OEM. anyways, photoshoot time! (15 pictures) 1. Certified Authentic Vorsteiner. 2. I chose to have the whole hood painted white in sticking with the mostly whited out theme I have going on with the kidney grill, m3 side markers and non carbon roof.. 3. I still wanted to somehow show off the carbon in a subtle way so Phil decided to put a sticker on, paint over it and then lift it carefully before the clearcoat. He did a perfect job with this! and I know he only got one chance with it.. One wrong move and he would have had to paint the whole thing white. 4. Car looks more aggressive with this hood. I likey!! 5. Phil said fitting the stock vents was the hardest part.. they didn't want to fit on and had to be slightly grinded down.. He also had to glue on the rubber pieces underneath the hood below the vents. 6. 7. really straight lines on both sides. 8. 9. 10. Last edited by leemik; 03-28-2010 at 11:26 PM.. |

Really like the combination of Ericsson trunk with VRS hood, I'm considering the same setup myself

It did not come out exactly the way I wanted.. You can't tell from the pictures but he needed to wet sand it down some more to smooth out the hills and valleys in some parts of the piece. The problem is with the clearcoat which doesn't really come out in photographs.. Like I told you in a PM it would probably be acceptable to most people but I'm a little bit OCD.. |
