Easy question! But unsure answer???
Does anyone know if the standard Ipod cable (white cable) out of the box will work with the 08 M3 Ipod player pre-installed? Is there a true need to buy that expensive a$$ BMW Genuine iPod Auxiliary Connection Cable for you to be able to operate your Ipod thru the console??? Any help would be great....Oh, the reason I dont know is I dont take delivery of my M3 till this Friday, thats why I havent tried. Thank! Joe

you can use the regular cable if you just want to listen to music and control everything via the iPod, but if you want to control the iPod with the iDrive then you need to buy the "expensive cable"

Sucks...You would figure if you spend the money to get the Ipod/MP3 installed it would come with ALL the hardware you would need! Anyways- Got it, thanks!
