(again, speaking from experience)

The M3 is a powerful car no doubt about it, but someone has to show you how to get around up there. I'd be happy to. I'll be at almost every event coming up, request me. Just ask for #666 and they'll know.
Will hit you up!

Headrest Cruisecam mount on the passenger seat.

I think you instructor should have least directed you out there a couple of times to see the difference if nothing else.
Agreed

Nannies were all on.

I did not have MDM on as the throttle was too sensitive.

Correct. Nannies were on for this session. Keep in mind, I've only got 4 track events under my belt to date. With 2 so far @ VIR.

you can tell also by the wiggling of the steering wheel that the car was about to lose grip but wiggling back and forth but basically staying in the same steering angle wouldn't have done nothing. (i used to do that but have graduated)
All I said was that MDM was never engaged during this session.

I think it's the tires. I just ordered a set from 3M. They're called "Post It Polewinners". They have a stickier version called "Scotch Tape Trackmasters", but they are useless after driving across a dusty paddock.

You can adjust throttle sensitivity in the M-drive menu to soften the response.

oh you meant that the throttle was too sensitive, now i get it. you can set your throttle to comfort (normal) whilst running with MDM. I also think that MDM is a setting for traction control, not just hitting the M-button. it'll help you progress in the beginning (granted you are learning driving dynamics vs just letting it save you) because you can get a feel for when the car is sliding. i think this is the track where a dude spins out and runs into the tire wall while screaming WEEEEE! (right?)

maybe at a smaller track you can try dsc off on some slower turns. thats what i have been doing and its a completely different experience/animal.

grass doens't really help either because if you go off with some speed you'll just keeping sliding along until some sort of barricade stops you

Those 2 statements in bold are either contradictory or confusing/unclear.

DSC on = 100% nanny
MDM = 50% nanny
DSC off = no nanny

Manual Mode but no MDM. I found MDM a touch too sensitive.
But, in this, it appears that @SlowSaloonM3 is referring to traction control setting, whereas the OP appears to be replying about power/throttle-sensitivity setting...

Incorrect. I never said nannies were off. MDM activates more slip angle + engages 'Power' if set up as such. I did not engage MDM as the default MDM mode made the throttle too sensitive.

Like I said before, I had Nannies fully on (DSC-ON, MDM-OFF)

it doesn't activate the POWER button...you can change the settings via idrive.
