Tire shop in NoVa

Have a set of gloss black powder coated rims. Need to get tires, any ideas on a shop that could mount etc, without damaging the finish and give decent price on tires?

E-mail Mike at Currys Auto. Currys sells tires for $10 over cost, cheaper than tire rack, and has BMW certified techs. They also have a Dulles location

I thought the $10 over cost deal was for August only unless they continued it. I bought a set of Conti DWS at a good price during that sale.

They've been getting so much business from selling tires for almost no profit that I think they're keeping the deal going.

I dropped the Joe Kim name and saved $45 bucks on my Mount/Balance.

FTW.

Thanks Joe!

In fact, I called the Chantilly one, and they called the Falls Church one to do the deal

I did and they sold Michelin PSS for $10 above cost which was lower than Tire Rack w/shipping. I am real happy with them.

glad this thread popped up

i'm going to need to get new tires soon...i can't believe how fast M5 tires, especially rears wear out.

I hear Michelin PS2s are a good all around street tire, especially for the M5 and has decent longevity w/ wear and tear, especially for the M5. Can anyone confirm this or provide input?

So far i've been running stock Contis which I always get from the dealer. Aside from the fact they wear out, i've noticed in cold weather, they tend to be very hard until warmed up. This is very noticeable in traction and grip, and it's as if my tires are nothing but very hard rubber w/ no treads.

I can't imagine many people would say that PS2's have longevity

Get Pilot Super Sports

ok so whats the difference between Michelin PS2s and Pilot Super Sport? other than cost? and why should i pay more for Super Sports? I guess i'm trying to justify things for a guy who doesn't track his car and goes on a few spirited runs every now and then.

Michelin website says the longevity is a little longer on the Super Sport.

How do they handle in colder temps?

Good question about cold weather, I just put the Super Sports on my car and they seem to have a little softer ride than the PS2 and the same or better grip. But I have not wrung them out yet.

They are a couple of hundred cheaper and have a longer warranty than the PS2 which was my motivation.

This is the primary reason, but just like PS2s they are a summer tire.

my mistake, it seems the PS2s are the more expensive ones. But it seems the Super Sports are not available for the e60 M5, according to the Michelin website.

And after reading this (which i found on m5board), I might stick w/ Contis since the review said it outperformed PS2s *shocking* and it's cheaper too...lol

http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires...y_f1_gs_ds.pdf

yeah, I imagine either one will feel like driving on concrete shoes in the sub-40 temps until warmed up.

Goodyear F1s were on closeout at Tirerack for 50% off. Not sure if it's still good but I got all 4 corners a few weeks ago and am incredibly happy.

too bad they don't have ones for the e60 M5....at least not the F1 GS-D3s

just called Curry's in Chantilly. To think I was going to a BMW dealer to get tires, mounting, etc all this time.

Never again...not w/ the great prices Currys has to offer!
