Body/engine work question
Hey all,
A horrible thought came into my head last night as I was almost side swipped by a ford econoline van making an illegal left turn here in NY. Since official production of the e9x and s65 is over in june/july this year, what happens to those of us who are UNLUCKY enough to have the engine or body damaged in ways requiring new OEM parts???? Will BMWNA continue to make replacement parts for the s65, and body components for the e9x for a few more years?? NONE of us will ever have to go through this hopefully, but I just can't help feeling like I have to keep this car in a bubble now that they aren't making them anymore. Anyone know for sure? Thanks. |

It would be fairly surprising for a manufacturer to stop supporting their vehicles with parts. In the tech industry we usually guarantee system components will be available for at least five years after discontinue.
Cheers

I am pretty sure in the US car parts have to be available for 7 years after the last one is produced for the US market.
