while a great performing car, it has only a slight performance advantage over some of the cars on the list, and does not have superior performance to any, and is outperformed by many on the list..

not sure what the purpose of this post is

The poll is rather silly. It does not define what performance parameters. People actually believe that the M is superior to a C2S.2, 997 turbo.anything, GTR, ZO6... I can't go on.

And, of course members pick the M3 and post that the reason is due to family needs. What does 'family needs' have to do with performance?

Matter of fact this poll is not rather silly, it's just plain stupid.

Sorry, my intention is not to offend any stupid people.

100% correct.

Just about every car on the list out performs the M3.

Lies, after spending considerable time in a HPF E46 M3, I am convinced it is one of the fastest cars on Earth.

I know the a C6 Z06 is superior in terms of straight line speed, even on the track.. but I guess it's a whole difference experience owning a BMW M car rather than a corvette.

Plus the depreciation and maintenance you have to take owning a corvette really hurts... I regret buying a new one - I should have just picked one up on the used car market a year later at 60% of the price.

I also often wonder why there are so many Z06 owners lurking around an M3 forum.

I love how people associate maintenance with corvette...I had 2 Z06's, Over 30000 miles in under 2 years, never did I see any maintenance costs aside from oil changes, front brake pads twice, 8 sets of rear tires along with some fronts, but I think the brake pads and tires might be because of my driving habits
