PCD question
For PCD, can you drive a MT for the E9X M3? For my 2 day M school, they only had M-DCT. I am planning on PCD, but really want to drive the MT on the same course. I searched could not find anything. Thanks.

Last year for M school, I asked for the mt, but they told me dct only. I remember for PCD, they are suppose to have a car just like the one you are picking up to drive, so if you order a mt wouldn't you drive a mt for PCD? I want to say no, but if any recent PCD mt e9x m3 owners can chime in that would be great.

DCT... Go, it is an AWESOME experience!!!
Take a girl too, they'll be putty in your hands afterward. They will, I think, have the same type of cars out that people are buying... There were 3 of us with M's (2 sedans and 1 coupe), they had those sitting in the bay... I don't know if it was intentional on their part. |

Same for me. The PDC had three M3's and two 335i waiting for our group when we got there. All DCT's. After driving it I was second guessing my choice of the 6MT.
And Alex1911 is right. Take a girl with you. I'm pretty sure I could have told my girlfriend I killed her parents and slept with her sisters and she wouldn't have stopped smiling when she was driving the M3. |

Do they include the PCD with the M3, I was told it's only with the M5&6? I'm in the process of ordering mine now and it's looking like ED isn't an option for this one so PCD may be the next best thing.

heard they go with dct's only because of the inability to overrev a dct vs. mt, i picked up there in may but ordered dct so thats what i got. best way to pick up an m except for of course ed (european delivery). loved it.

I believe you are thinking of M-school which is something else. This is a different way of having your vehicle delivered as opposed to just picking it up at your dealership.

That must be what I was thinking of. I'm assuming at the M school they must let you ride the car a bit harder. I'll be heading down there to pick mine up for sure.

All deliveries of the M3 should be through PCD...simply amazing experience. And yes, they are all DCT. Just did mine June 11th and there were 3 pairs of us, all M3s. Be sure to ask Donnie for a hot lap in the M5 at the end... he'll show you how to drive!
Track rats may find it not as interesting but for everyone else there is no comparison. |
