Eisenmann doesn't quote exact dyno figures, as dyno runs vary too much from run to run. Most dyno technicians I've spoken to have told me "How much power do you want this exhaust to make?" when I talk to them about performing dyno runs, and neither IND nor Eisenmann is interested in doing business that way.

Eisenmann prefers to test system's flow with pressure probes, to test muffler efficiency.

You can see the tubes used to output pressure to the test probes in this picture. By testing the amount of backpressure from the OEM system, and then testing the packpressure of the Eisenmann system, they can give a real, repeatable measure of the efficiency of the Eisenmann system.

Here are the backpressure measurements:

SPORT-Version:

moving vehicle = 75 db
stationary vehicle = 92 db at 6.225 1/min
value of backpressure = -25%
weight of the muffler = apr. 21 kg

I hope that clears things up a bit!

RACE-Version:

moving vehicle = apr. 95 db
stationary vehicle = apr. 102 db at 6.225 1/min
value of backpressure = apr. -32%
weight of the muffler = apr. 21 kg

Hey Nate...Im located here in Germany and was wondering if the tour was open to the public or just dealers? Also, if I buy the Race would I be able to get it installed there?

Weren't you guys going to try out a dyno a few months back? How did it go? Did you get back to back runs without and with the exhaust?

Or were the results bad so this wasn't posted?

We were scheduled to dyno at Fall-Line, but they've been extremely busy with their Grand Am schedule. We're heading over there for some dyno runs and a full photo tour of their facilities as soon as they have a break in their racing work!

First set is coming in from Germany next week. Once test fit is complete on our sedan (BMW does not offer the E90 M3 in Germany) Eisenmann will start producing them.

Can you guess at whether or not the pipes would increase the volume of either the Sport or Race exhaust vs. standard pipes?

Thanks for the reply. The pipes will work with all M3 models E90/92/93.

Pricing has not been released by Eisenmann Germany

There will be no difference in tone when adding the Eisenmann pipes to a Sport or Race performance system. Eisenmann is making the pipes due to the US demand for a bolt on system.
