Is this a good deal?

I'm looking to pick up a certified pre-owned e90 with 17,000 on the clock and wanted to see what you thought of this deal. I was quoted $50,900 as the best they could do. Is this a good deal or not? Thanks.

No. This should be very close to $40K, maybe under; regardless of options.

Wow. Are you being serious? I haven't found any that low...even ones that were not certified. Stripped down models i've seen are asking around $45,000

That's just absurd. Maybe less than 40k?? This is an e90 he's talking about, not an e46.

With it being loaded and CPO it's probably as good a deal as any. If you could get them under 50k I'd pull the trigger. With the caveat that you like everything about the car (e.g., color combination, etc).

I'd be curious to hear some other opinions...with more realistic perspectives

I just bought a 2009 M3 sedan in Jerez Black Metallic a month ago with around 17k miles from a BMW dealership with Bamboo Beige Novillo Leather and I paid $49.9k. The specs include:

- 6MT
- Moonroof
- Heated front seats
- Navigation system
- HD radio (not sure what this really is)
- iPod and USB adapter

I feel like I got a fair deal, although I probably did not get a 'great' deal. I found it hard to find a one year old M3 sedan (I wanted the new rear tail lights and iDrive) with some specs I wanted.

6MT or DCT? If it has the M-DCT and is CPO you're getting a fair deal, especially considering the lower finance rates typically offered on dealer purchases vs. private party. If it is the 6MT I'd try to get them down another couple thousand to, say, $49k max.

Here, 2008, 12K miles, 6MT, $44.9K, I know it can be had very very very close to $40K: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national

I know these cars were selling for $40K-$42K in December, even some with many more options.

Or this, 2008 BMW M3 coupe , 18.5k miles, JEREZ BLACK METALLIC WITH BAMBOO BEIGE VOVILLO LEATHER, NAVIGATION, 6 SPEED MANUAL, PREMIUM PACKAGE, TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE, AMBIANCE LIGHTING, STEERING TELSERVICES, HD RADIO, HI-FI SOUND SYSTEM, SHADOWLINE EXTERIOR TRIM, MOONROOF, ADJUSTABLE SEAT WIDTH/LUMBAR, iPOD AND USB ADAPTER, SATELLITE RADIO. For $47K, No Reserve. The owner would easily take $45K for it, or less if he has a ready and serious buyer.

This one will most likely not even reach $42K. 2008 M3 sedan 16K miles pretty loaded except for the 18" wheels....

what makes you think they have that much room on these? 40k? that is not gonna happen. the 45k listed has NO options. the one you said that will not hit 42k will also not hit the reserve
e90s go for 45k to 50k depending on options and conditions

You can think whatever you want. I saw it multiple times when I sold my M3 E93 M3 3 months ago, since I was thinking of picking up an E90, so I know. If you heard the wholesale/auction prices of these cars (2008 E90's), you'd cry. Well under $40K. But hey, you know more than me .

Keep in mind: If you are not a cash buyer, you can usually afford to pay a little more to a dealer than to a private party. B of A is offering 3.7% on used cars from a franchised dealer. 4.6% for private party, which is down from the 6.5% they were offering on PP purchases when I applied recently, but that .9% will save you a couple grand over the course of the loan.

Thanks for the links...i have been watching two of those and might call today. They dont have exactly what i want, but the price is right.

As for the CPO'd car, i offered $48k... they said "cant do it, good luck", and i walked.
