reason i mod

well, just got back from the bmw power of M tour where, i was able to take a new 2011 zcp on the track for a go. This is the same track i have taken my 2011 non zcp, although upgraded, to 3 times this summer so have a bit of reference, and was not overly impressed. Know its cheaper to have just gone comp pckg, but really noticed the lack of power (have akra evo and ess tune), as well as in gear accelerations (dinan 3.45 diff) and the dinan stg. 3 felt more planted and confidence inspiring than the zcp. After getting off the track, really appreciate my baby that much more!!! Not saying the zcp is bad, but can really make an overall better car with some upgrades in the aftermarket world. Just throwing out there if anyones debating and wondering whats possible. Yes i know i spent more money, and that anythings possible with deep pockets, but then again, i am the Master of the obvious, Cheers!!!

btw, have hre p40's, so like my wheels better too

That's a good point you made. An m3 with the competition package is pretty much a decent track car out of the box. However, if you track your car a lot and plan to do modifications on the engine, suspension, or even wheels, your better off with the non-competition package. IMHO, it kind of defeats the purpose when someone purchases an m3 with competition package and does suspension and wheel upgrades.

Definitely notice the power difference, and really enjoying making the car mine... Btw bot it outright and don't plan on selling... Going to make it my personal ring taxi for family and friends (- the ring)

M3 is def not slow. ok, it has shitty low end torque, but this car moves especially on the highway. btw, my friend who works on cars is doing an ECU flash tuning to my car once its broken in. His tuning gives the M3 another 20HP
