DCT modes?

I am unsuccessfully trying to find some overview or descriptions of different DCT modes - like shift speed, shift points, rev-matching. Can anyone point me to such info or a detailed review?

THanks!

Check out these:

Be prepared, probably going to get flamed for not doing search.

Hope this helps.

Not quite what you are looking for but I like this description that someone posted, I think here,...

S1: Granny mode… very smooth shifts
S2: Mother mode… still very smooth
S3: Dad mode… the car defaults to this mode every time you start it… smooth, but you can feel the shifts.
S4: You after 5 cups of coffee… the shifts are racy and the downshifts bark at you.
S5: You after 5 cups of coffee and 5 cans of Red Bull… your head is snapping back after every shift.
S6: DSC Off - You on crystal meth… be very careful as the stability control is off and those rear tires will break traction easily. The upshifts and downshifts are to die for.

I do...I hate the artificial jerk you get with high rev shifts in the higher modes especially as it unsettles the rear suspension if you are not driving in a straight line. I love the smooth upshifts in S2 and a bit of throttle ( with heel and toe, but keep it quiet or the MT owners will get all arsey about it) speeds up the downshifts if necessary. Or approaching corners I can switch it into M mode (S4 and MDM) for rev matched downshifts if I fancy scaring old ladies on the sidewalks.

Are the Smodes on the DCT that much different than the SMG? I have an '05 w SMG, and I find anything below S5 annoyingly slow, so I've haven't had it out of S5 in years. I don't find it rough or jerky at all. I do drive it like a manual though, and slightly lift on upshifts, which smooths things out nicely.

I love my SMG, but am getting close to switching to either an e90 or 92 with DCT. Am I going to be in for a shock? I figured it would be similar to my SMG, but based on the descriptions above, maybe not...

Thanks

Lot's of info if you search. DCT is not SMG- Two clutches and an entirely different transmission in the DCT. Having owned both you really can't compare the modes. You should test drive a DCT- you will be in for a shock, a real pleasant shock!
