VW Golf 2010

Hey Guys!

I am a truly a BMW fan... but as a 20 years old student... getting a 1 will be hard . Thus, I might go for the new Golf. I will get the Sports Package and stuff... but I was wondering if anyone knew a forum as good as this but for Golf/Rabbit Owners? I might be doing some mods (1st time), so I will need help!

Thanks a lot in advance and in the future, I will post regarding a new 1 !

VWVortex is probably the place to go for all things VW related

I have a 2009 2.0T JSW and really like it.

The new Golf looks sweet. But if I were you I'd save for a few months longer and get the GTI. I think in the end you'll want the extra performance and such.

Go to vwvortex.com, one of the best forums I have been a part of. I have an 06 GLI with a 6 speed manual, which is a great car (I am a 21 year old college student). The 2.0t is kinda weak in stock form, but I had mine chipped by GIAC and it is the best 600 bucks I have ever spent. Huge difference, this is truly a fun car now. Check out the forums over there, you will find it very inviting, informative, and relatively easy to use. My only problem is that the search function over there is the worst I have ever seen.

Too much clutter on vortex...

I just sold my 2008.5 GTI yesterday. They are excellent cars. You won't be sorry.

I have a 2000 VW Golf GL with over 170K miles on it. It still runs great. I just put it's third set of brakes on it over the weekend (yes, they've only been changed twice since I've owned it since new). It also has the original clutch and suspension. It's been rock solid and a lot of fun. Very useful car too being a hatchback.
Just get the two door Golf. It's going to be about $5k cheaper than the GTI unless you really start adding options.

I started building a Gti yesterday... on the long run, its about 70-80$ difference / month on a lease. I would have a GPS/Xenon/Turbo/Better Handling/++ Sound System/30 Gig Media Interface/6 Speed Manual/18" and the better looks. I think for the 70-80$ its worth it. What do you guys think?

If you can avoid it I would lease it though. If your heart isn't set on the 09 GTI, you could prolly get a 08 GTI 0% financing for a steal.

Just my opinion. 60/mo 2.9% on my loaded wagen(everything but nav) is $510/mo. I'm sure you could do about that on a 08 GTI
