Evan at Tischer said they alone have sold about 30 of these wheels for DCT, so I may order a new one to replace it.

my psw has been doing the same but only when i leave it for a while. i fly around alot and every time i come back the rpm cant be read. but if i drive it daily it never happens though. all i gotta do is disconnect the battery for a few secs reconnect and rpm is read again. isn't too much of a hassle but kinda annoying.

The switch for the fuse may be an easy fix. i always reach to the glove box for my sunglasses anyway...

I drive daily and they do not work for me at all. When they are reset or unplugged, then it works until I take a couple hours off driving.

I have now heard of the problem with a manual transmission version of the wheel. Maybe it is not the DCT software, but the wheel itself? Any progress in anyone's case?

My car is garaged for the winter. I start it weekly and it's been fine since plugged into the fuse. I had it stop working once after sitting for a day. I'm just gonna leave it. If it stops working its an easy fix since its wired into the fuse tap. Just pull it out and plug back in.

this is so weird i dont know what's up with these wheels... mine has been working perfectly (unless ive been away or haven't used the car in a while).
Recently i installed another one for my cousin and his only works for like half a day at a time...

EDIT: my temperature readings don't work at all now.. just says 66 for both temps..

Hey everybody. I recently purchased the PSW 2 electronic wheel and read through these threads prior to installing. I tapped into the JBE pin 3 and 6 for power, everything was going smoothly, shift lights coming on fine and the wheel was remembering my settings.

I did the install yesterday afternoon, took a short test drive (<10 minutes), then the car was parked for about 30 minutes before heading out to get dinner. When I got in again, I got the 'increased battery discharge' error message on the iDrive. The car still starts up fine, wheel is still working perfectly. This morning I put a trickle charger on the car.

From what I can remember, all the wiring work when I was installing the wheel went fine. I disconnected the negative battery terminal in the beginning and didn't do anything else to run down the battery.

Anybody else see or have this issue with the PSW? One thing I'm not sure of, my car is a 2008, I bought it a little over a year ago as a CPO. From what I've read, if the battery is still the original it may be on its way out and I might have pushed it over the edge.

If your wired into the jb3 module you will have issues. Power it off the fuse panel as per this thread. I've had no issues since

My car needed a software update from BMW (unrelated to the wheel)and since then I have not had any issues. But I think I am the only one that got it installed at the dealership.

Thanks, I'll switch it to the fuse panel this weekend. Hopefully that solves my issue.

So exactly which confirmed power source do the cool DCT guys need to hit?

Lagunae92's is going straight off the battery leads and still reporting issues, can't get any more direct power than that.

Right, so there is no definitive DCT fix or perhaps a firmware update to the control module is a solution?
