Hope to be ready by end of September. The wallet keeps screaming at all the stuff that keeps needing to get paid.

But I'm going to try.

Here's the logic behind that:
- none of my high-speed motorcycles had/have DSC or ABS.
- none of the cars and trucks I've owned since 1982 have had DSC.
- I used to drive at high-speed for a living, and back then there was no DSC.
- Now that I've accomplished one entire set of four laps (I'm an "expert" --LOL) at MSRH with full-DSC and using automatic mode on the DCT, it is time to experiment and gradually taking off the nanny-stuff and see what happens.
- First set of laps will be with all the nanny-stuff.
- Second set of laps will be in S-mode to learn to throw the dual-clutch around and get the timing for the entrance/exit of the turns.
- Third set of laps will be in MDM mode to gauge the car's handling (and mine, to be honest).
- Fourth and final set will be with DSC "off." (Assuming the 3rd set went without doing a lawn mower maneuver.)
.
Good plan. Only other recommendation is that if on 3rd set your at 9/10ths, when you start the 4th set to dial it back to 7/10ths and then work your way up since your safety barriers are gone.

Brian - You don't have to turn DSC all the way off. I've only run 1 session so far with DSC off (about 7 track days), and rarely did I feel it was holding me back in a bad way.

to all spectators etc...who wish to get a ride...Check in with Richard Z or Phil and let them know. They will set you up with a ride with one of the instructors. I think the track will have helmets for rent, or bring your own helmet. Not sure if there will be loaner helmets.
Stay safe (lots of cars in the paddock) and stay hydrated and have fun!

I can't recall, but honestly, it wouldn't be good to rely on whatever may be in-stock within a machine. Instead, stop at a gasoline station and grab a few Gatorades and/or a six-pack of water. While the paddock is covered, the sun radiates off the concrete and it's quite hot on the track itself as everyone rolls their windows down and (it seems) forgoes the air conditioning to avoid power-drain.

Just show up...someone will give you water. I'll have a cooler there so you can grab a couple of bottle from me.

I was close to saying something funny but I'll shut up for now. Trying to be serious. I need to stop acting like my screen name should be bigjae2006.

Yes.

Get on 288 and go south. After the exit for Rosharon, you will see a sign for MSRanch (and it's on your left).

It's quite easy to get to -- nothing complicated around that area to throw you off.

Maps.Google.Com the address with:
1 Performance Dr
Angleton, TX 77515 and it shows right-up.

40% chance of rain which isn't good considering my tires are getting pretty close to slicks and they aren't that good in the rain to begin with.

So yeah...getting my excuses...I meant ducks in a row. lol.

40% rain in houston means 40% of houston area will see a rain drop. Houston is HUGE so unless its coming from the gulf, I wouldnt be too worried. I bet its going to be nice and sunny in angleton.

Appreciate the response.

Ive been to MSR many times. But usually to race my shifter kart at the kart track or work as a mechanic on Formula Mazda's running in the Star Mazda Series.

Also spent a season working For Risi Competizione Ferrari as a Technician. I am very familiar with the racing world. Been around it most of my life.

I just wanted to make sure it wasnt a closed event as they sometimes are, and I didn't go back through all the posts to check.

Unfortunately I do not think I will be able to make it out there this weekend.

Thanks.

TxStig

If it rains...do the canopies leak or are they waterproof? So I can come prepared.
