You should be less concerned with the time it takes to repair your blower and just be happy that your car still runs considering the damage done. Never run a car even for a short time without an air filter. I hope you get it all back and running properly. It sounds like you have the right guys taking care of it.

Umm OK. Car is not mine. I was also not the one that left the filter off and neither was the owner. Also the fact that Vortech customer service sucks donkey nuts and takes 2 months to rebuild a a charger doesnt change, but I appreciate your concern about what I should be concerned about and also great job stating the obvious that has been repeated only a dozen times in this thread

Was this covered by Vortech or was there a repair bill?

I was pretty sure that they wouldn't - I suppose I was actually fishing for how much the fee was to have the compressor rebuilt.

They Charge you depending on the parts that was replaced so it all depends on what damage was done .

i had a similar problem on my previous vechicle in august of 2008 where Vortech swapped manufacturers on a certain component in the superchargers. One week after i installed the supercharger it literary blew up. Like any other enthusiast first thing I did was get on the message boards to talk shit about vortech and a few days later I got back on the boards to talk more shit about how they were lagging and blah blah blah. That same day I get a phone call from my installer telling me if "I wanted my blower fixed soon I would stay the fuck off the boards". Lesson learned.. (This guy only worked on muscle cars and was super charging my G35 so he had no way of checking the boards)

Just like the dealerships, Vortech has people monitoring these boards. That same day I got on the boards and praised Vortech for their excellent service even though my blower was not ready. The next day I got a call from the Tech @ vortech saying my blower is ready and to come pick it up. When I got there, the dude smiled handed me the blower and told me that they will be warrantying the kit for 4 years 50,000 miles.

The OP at first made it sound like the SC was defective,a more appropriate title would be "Don't let incompetent techs install or troubleshoot your SC."
