Beware of user BU Z4 - Scammer

This guy is on several forums selling "lightly used tires" and completely omitting the fact that they are all patched tires.

I bought three tires off of him for $600. We went back and forth several times before I paid for the tires and he had plenty of opportunity to disclose the fact they were patched, but never said a thing. He only disclosed they were patched AFTER he had shipped them and had taken the money.

Another thing, after I had paid and before he had shipped, I asked him to please only ship 2 because I had found the other two tires locally and his response was "dont worry I'll hook you up for the last tire" and then went off to ship all three to me anyway. Fine, I don't care about that, I could use it as a spare so I let it go. Apparently "don't worry, I'll hook you up" means "I'll point you to an ebay listing that's selling another patched tire." Thanks bud! Useless.

After that, he completely disappeared and hasn't said a word since. I had to file a dispute on paypal which I lost. I have a feeling he knew I would lose too because he never even attempted to defend himself. Must not be his first time. I'm out $600 and he's nowhere to be found.

Thread: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1291998

Here's his reply when I told him that I did not want to buy the patched tire from his friend that he was "hooking me up with". This was after he had shipped the tires.

I don't know, but it seems like a big material omission to leave out that the tires have holes in them. I know for the most part patched tires are ok to drive on, but planning on doing several track days and having 4 patched tires is a ridiculous risk. That's not the issue though, it should have been disclosed.

To this day he has not said anything to any of my messages. Hopefully I'll be the last person he screws, although I've seen a few other threads on other sister forums that are the same exact thing.

Interesting that he would specifically state that these other tires had "No patch and No plug" in this old listing.

He knows good and well that advertising tires as patched would have made them much less desirable. The fact that the tires were patched should have been indicated in the For Sale post. You shouldn't have to ask for that info to be disclosed.

Sorry to hear that. I was real close to buying a pair of tires from him. You must have paid before I did, otherwise I'd be in your shoes right now. Thanks for the info.

He goes through great detail to show the tire depth gauge but conveniently forgets to mention they were patched. Guy should be banned.

If you paid with a credit card (which you should always do) file a chargeback with your credit card company and they should take care of it.

I never pay with debit card when I use PP, even though they always default to it.

That wouldve been smart, have it linked to my debit card.

Paypal reopened the case... we'll see, maybe third times the charm.

How did you reopen the case? -- mine is closed and I don't see an option to re-open it. Filed a chargeback w/ credit card company

I had to call them, its the second time I have to appeal their decision. They told me you can appeal it as many times as you want. If I'm not mistaken, the sellers funds are frozen while there's a claim on the transaction.

Just bought some tires from MShift was a great transaction sorry to see he got boned.

MShift, I believe only the value of your transaction is frozen, like if he sold them for $600 there is $600 frozen untouched in his account. If he already moved the money I think he goes negative. Not sure though.

What a scumbag man. 3 patches and a tire is scrap even if you have 10/32 tread.

Hope he gets what's coming to him. Sorry to hear bro. Buy new tires at a national brick and mortar. They do volume because they sell the most on a razor thin margin product and nothing beats free balancing and free tire patching through the life of your tires.

An update for anyone who saw this before. Paypal finally would NOT cover me under the buyer protection so I'm SOL. To think I always tried to do the right thing and buy everything paying their 3% fee. Now that I expect them to come through, they fail me spectacularly in what should have been, according to their own staff, an easy case to decide.

Don't do business with this guy, he's a scammer. Disappeared completely ever since that last message.

I have the tires for sale if anyone is interested in buying them. They are essentially new, but patched.
