Fuel pump control module failure

I'm looking to buy a 2008 e90 m3 with about 66.6k miles on it

The car failed smog due to a bad fuel pump control module. What's the likelihood of that happening in these cars with that mileage? Cause?

Lastly, should I be concern?

Thanks in advance.

thanks for the reply. They replaced the fuel pump sensor and everything's fine now.

Garage List
It's a cheap part and easy to replace. Very common failure. No worries.
