Oak Tree Grand Prix (VIR) Photos
Spent Sunday at VIR with the National Capitol and Tarheel BMWCCA clubs (and also Track Daze for an HPDE on Monday and Tuesday)
Thanks to the CCA and Turner Motorsports for hosting an informative and in depth discussion on the team, their Z4, and the series. Turner and VIR were really open and it was great to get so close to the cars and teams. Turner had a great weekend with a #1 finish in GTD (Daytona) The BMW Performance Driving School came out and provided some F80 M3 Hot Laps to lucky raffle winners- and it was fun to watch the coordinated drifts around turns 3 and 4. Enjoy the photos!-

Thanks for sharing! Yea the Turner guys are great. The techs are always willing to answer any questions about the cars. All the teams do really but the Turner tent is always wide open.
I watched on TV. There was some drama but overall good hard racing. Glad you had fun. |

Looks awesome thx for the pics...watched from my TV. Didn't realize the Turner Z4 that won had the S65 M3 motor in it. Nice.

I really wanted to attend in person, but I'm going there for a 3-day HPDE this weekend, and I couldn't swing two weekends in a row.
I'm so glad they did it as a GT-only race this year. Prototypes are fine but they're not my thing. Blue Chip spent a lot of money widening the turns for better wheel-to-wheel racing and paving the paddock for the big rigs. I really hope this isn't the last year Tudor goes to VIR, but I'm afraid it may be. I hope Continental SCC adds it to their lineup! P.S. I still think those factory-made Z4 chassis are the track car equivalent of breast implants. To each his own I guess. |

Awesome photos, thanks for sharing! Do you know if they had a photographer at the HPDE? I didn't see a trailer or hear anyone mention it. Seeing if I can find some pics of my car.

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. This was a good race, watched it on TV.
Too bad you missed out on the Prototypes. They're seriously awesome in person. (Not to take anything away from the GT's).
