I had a discussion with a group of my buddies and we agreed that "if" the C63 had come in a coupe version; more streamlined and less angular/boxy, the choice would have been a little bit harder. Kinda like the CLK 63 Black Series but with working rear seats and a slight hint of practicality.

Sounds great but for what it seems, IŽd just take my regular C63 to Kleemann, Renntech or Brabus and up the engine power for that same price difference to 540bhp (not only 487), buy a bbk and I am done.

The PPP does look like a nice upgrade, and the SLS forged internals are very cool. It does seem pretty expensive though, not sure how it will translate to U.S. dollars. However as some others have mentioned, unfortunately this package does not address the suspension at all. For those of you who have test driven the C63 and reported a skitish feel, I experienced the same thing. With the stiffer PP suspension it is even worse. What the car needs are a set of coilovers like on the CLK63 BS. I put a set of KW V3s on mine and it really does transform the handling of the C63.
As far as the power output, I'm at a solid 550hp, maybe closer to 560hp, with tune, LT headers, and CF airbox. I'm think I can free up another 20hp or so with pulley and 2-piece rotors, so in that regard I would rather dump money into aftermarket mods than the modest hp increase with the PPP. BUT, if I had the forged internals in addition to my current mods maybe I would be seeing 600hp? I wish we had the aftermarket support like the M3 though. You guys have over 6 supercharger options to choose from and not 1 for the 63! |

Even if he said he thinks the car IS crap a fan/owner of the car shouldn't bother taking the bait. Such a statment would only make that person look silly and fanboy-ish. You have to expect some of that on m3post.com (or any fan forum). I know I sure would not feel compelled to defend car brand X at forum Y when X and Y are pretty much arch competitors...

^ thank god...otherwise your cars (c63) would smoke our cars (m3) that 6.2l v8 with a blower would be an absolute animal.

awesome car. i've test driven the c63 a couple of times and it's very tempting. personally though, i don't think the exterior is as visually striking as the m3 coupe. i can't deny the c63's performance and i love its exhaust note.

Go drive a C63. You don't even have to touch the steering wheel to get a rush from it. That's provided by a twist of the key. |

I went to the dealer today. The performance package was $4000 canadian and the performance plus package is 6000. For $2000 more I think I going to get it for sure.

What a stupid post. Why would a BBK work for the M3 and not a C63.
If anything, the C63 would benefit more from a BBK setup due to its extra weight.

The AMG brake system is made by Brembo. If you were going to go with a BBK for the C63 it would have to be a 8 or 12 piston design up front, with a 6 piston setup in the rear to upgrade over the 6 piston front and 4 piston rear. Feedback from this forum even suggests the single piston caliper design in the M3 is a weakness and you see most people who mod their car opt for a BBK.
