Cleaning M3 Performance Steering Wheel Material

Hi guys..

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I searched and didn't come up with anything concrete.

I have the Performance steering wheel and notice that the left side is wearing a little bit. What is the best way to clean/wash the wheel? Do I just use water and a microfiber, or there is a better way to bring the freshness back to it?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Warm water and a microfiber is your best bet. There are dedicated alcantara cleaners however and I think leather masters makes one.

When I had the Electronic Perf wheel (V1)....I used the BMW branded alcantara cleaner and a cloth diaper...foam on...wipe off. Heavily soiled parts of the wheel I would spray with the cleaner and use a stiff toothbrush to agitate then wipe off with a cloth diaper. I would use a microfiber to pay dry the alcantara when I was done.

Mike, use this: I've been using this for years and so far it hasn't let me down. http://www.detailersdomain.com/Leath...ara_p_213.html

I lather it in with a extra soft bristle toothbrush. Wipe down with clean microfiber.

Unfortunately, a part # exists for this product - but it cannot be ordered by US BMW dealerships at this point.

I used auto finesse fabric cleaner and a towel, not an MF. It worked perfectly and looked like new afterwards. That DIY video is pretty good.

I had mine for about 2 years
Used a suede brush with a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol
Spray on one area, then brush it
Dissolves the oils from your hand, and also kills any smell from the sweat
