Below 2000RPM it is a little "boomy", not really drone. On the hwy though, its quiet at cruising speed, which is really important.

What I like most is it's very quiet when just cruising, but it really does make some nice noise when you step on it. It's kinda the best of both worlds.

How did you polish the tips? Sounds like it might be the answer for me.

I had the slip on first, its def quieter, especially below 2500RPM. I also found it to be a touch deeper with the slip on only.

Its not so much that you are staying at that RPM, but when you are reving the car up to what you normally shift at.

Polished tips
Hopefully u received the PM with the one pic. They look very similar to the tips depicted earlier in this thread, but without the added expense. Now someone chuckled about the amount of time we worked on them. But u need to know that my buddy who did the polishing is VERy anal!!!! Probably spent more time than might have been actually required...... Good Luck and Post up some pics of what u actually do. They might bronze over in time, but once polished, I think u can keep em touched up with minimal effort...... Details , details........

I got a chance to listen to this exhaust in person at yesterday's meet and all I can say is WOW! It sounds amazing. Can't wait to get mines in the future!

yeah, it sounds great! the best part was when dawgdawg didn't give a crap that a cop was like 20 yards away and just stomped on it multiple times to give everyone (including the cop) a proper introduction to the akrapovic.
