Holy mother of god. This car is amazing. The quality of mods are impeccable. Sadly, I don't think I could ever pour another $45-50K into an M3 on top of the price of the car. Maybe one day

And is it a varis lip? Not diffuser since you list a different rear diffuser?

The rear diffuser looks good in theory, in reality it looks like a cheap bolted on bit. Lucky it's functional

The wheels have poor fitment, 5-10 more offset in the rear MINIMUM. Cant see the front clearly enough. Entirely ruins the car.

The yellow flake trim is horrible

The hard-look leather dash looks cheap and from the 70's.. Cant even notice the door re-trim

The coverless mid's (speakers) in the doors look mint though.

Looks OKAY

But it's this stupid mix of race car and street car... A welded cage in many parts of the world/states isn't street legal for example... Those mirrors are USELESS... Ugh.
Just to be clear the rear does have a VRS diffuser

Most of your gripes seem to be aesthetic related which is fair enough but how are the mirrors useless given they are retrofitted BMW motorsport parts?

Wider guards like custom body work? That would be tacky

Personally, I think this car misses the entire point of the M3. What makes the M3 (especially the sedan) great is the fact that it's a practical, comfortable, luxury car that can also be driven spiritedly and tracked.

When you rip the rear seats out, toss in a roll cage, remove the comfortable and adjustable seats, block the trunk pass-through, etc., you've completely destroyed the practical, comfortable, and luxury aspects. I'm sure the car is great on a track, but the street usability has been destroyed. And it's not like it's an all out track car either - if it were, it wouldn't have speakers, iDrive, leather dash, needless alcantara everywhere, etc. And I get the feeling that this car isn't used primarily as a track vehicle.

I guess my issue is that it's form over function. At the end of the day, you have a car that is now less practical than a GT-R, likely slower, and I imagine more expensive. Is it prettier? Sure, minus the mirrors, interior trim and rear diffuser. But I feel the whole purpose of the M3, a vehicle designed from the beginning to be a higher-end and trackable (but still practical) version of a street car, has been defeated.

Just my two cents.

Absolutely beautiful, you found the tipping point of form and function and are balancing it phenomenally. One of the best wheels I've ever seen on an e9x m3 IMO.

Why are so many people hating on the mirrors? You have to remember that these are from BMW's race car program. I'm sure BMW spent a ton of time designing them for a reason. I personally think they look great.

Very nicely modified SHOW CAR! Otherwise I would say this car has a bit of identity crisis. Im not bashing on its clean finish but this car would of been a better balance of a street/track/daily cruiser without the cage and a few other tid bits. But hey to each is their own.

You just hit on just about every exact thought I had about the car... particularly the part about being a caged sedan.

Cosmetically and aesthetically beautiful. Functionally and practicability is horrible.

I remember a time when cars like M3's were modded with form following function. This car is all form, no function. Looks great stopped in pictures, but take it out for a track day and I promise you will be disappointed.

This thread has so far 12 pages of praise and nutt rubbing, so having a few posts pointing out purist critique, opinions, and point of views shouldn't be so concerning to you.

Happy motoring.
