Bird flew into my bumper and knocked out reflector...
If you have ever been down to South Texas you know there is an over population of Dove. I was driving down the road today and this Dove flew right into the front passenger side of my M3. I thought he flew into the front rim and all I saw was feathers in the rear view mirror. When I get home I realize the damn thing had flown right into the bottom of the bumper where the reflector is housed. I am now missing a passenger side IND painted Sparkling Graphite Metallic reflector. I drove back to see if I could find it laying on the side of the road, but no luck for me. Anyone need a driver's side IND SGM reflector? LOL!

That sucks, friend of mine here hit a raven (big ass black bird) in his Jerez black M3 and it got stuck in his headlight. Drove it to the dealership with the bird en tow. Almost looked like a cool feather mod..... angel eyes aint got shit on raven eyes.

You sir have just been robbed by a bird. I hate when that happens because the part that got knocked off is never in the surrounding area. Where the hell does it go? Does the bird take it with them for a souvenir or did it really fly off that far. Some questions I don't think will ever be answered.

Maybe it got pushed inside your bumper somewhere. You could probably lightly tap the outside of your bumper and listen for any rattling sounds.

Same thing happened to me last year with my stock reflectors. Stinking Kamikaze birds around here took my reflector. Funny part was it took me quite awhile to get the other side out without damaging it and a bird swiped one at 75MPH! I thought I was the only one! Welcome to the club. Thank God no damage.

Make sure there are no bird parts in your car. This happened to me and I thought I got all of it out of my grill until the following summer I got an awful smell while washing it. There was bird carcass stuck way back in there.

This is true. There is a good possibility that the remains of the bird are stuck inside behind the bumper cover. You'd be surprised how large of a bird can fit through that opening. If you get a ripe smell coming from your car soon, you'll know where the remains wound up.

Bummer, but you got off easy if that was the only damage. Good thing for small birds! Well, not them but you know......

You're lucky it didn't get stuck in your grill or something. A few years ago I was driving in my Z4 (which I traded in for the M3), and a cat ran out in front of me as I was going around a corner. Unfortunately, I hit the cat. I could see the puff of fur fly over the hood and hanging in the air behind the car as I passed by. I thought it had fallen to the side of the road, but its head had gotten lodged in the lower grille of the bumper. I drove with that stupid cat on my bumper for almost 2 hours until I got to work and someone looked out the building window and started freaking out because they spotted the cat hanging from my bumper. Once I got out and inspected my bumper, I realized why people were pointing at my car while I was driving to work. I was lucky the only damage that occurred was to a clip holding the grille in place. The cat didn't survive.

Reminds me of the Boxster that nailed a bird at 160mph. This is really old but I still find it funny.
