Today I did this, and the trunk would not open. Called BMW Roadside and my dealer and was given few options other than to buy another comfort access key ($400) and have it FedEx-ed, which would take 2 days.

I called a local automotive locksmith who was well-rated on Yelp, he showed up and after ten minutes opened the door for $150. Just wanted to post this for anyone who finds themselves in a bind. Your solution is an experienced locksmith.
Are your windows tinted?

For those of you who are getting locked out, can BMW Assist not remote unlock?

I also noticed that BMW has removed the capability to do this through the iPhone app, they now require to call in.

Keep one of the rear seatbacks unlocked just in case.

If not, I'll take it in for a check up.
A couple of days ago, I left my keys in my gym bag and put it in my trunk with the keys in it by accident.
When I closed it, it wouldn't stop beeping and it didn't lock the trunk.
Comfort Access won't let the car lock if the keys are inside. Also my batteries aren't even good because I have to stand close to the car to unlock it and stuff.

AAA can get the keys out of the trunk. They did for me by using an airbag on the window to sorta jimmy the door open, and a separate wire to open the door with the door handle.
Then when they open the door they press open the trunk button once inside the car.
