How long did it take for them to do it? One body shop where I got a quote from told me that they would need to keep my car for 5 days to do it properly. They quoted me $800 and I wanted to do it but I can't be away from my girl for that long!
Is it me or do I see the 19" wheels on your car in the first few photos and the 18" wheels in the last few? What's up with that? |

I've been shopping around for a shop to do mine also, but most of them have been turning me down!! They said the hole is too large and they don't "specialize" in molding/patch type work. They'd sooner replace the entire bumper than attempt what you did. The reason I want to do this is because I have not only 2 holes from the front license plate screwed in, but FOUR! I repeat, FOUR! Lol.. Too bad Pleasanton is far away from me. I live in Southern California. So my search goes on for a shop to do this patch/repaint. Did your shop say it'll be as good as new with a guarantee? The shop here said they would do it if I really wanted, but they would not guarantee it.

What exactly is a state inspection. I've been driving for 16 years and I've never had to do a "state inspection". Smog check yes...but they don't check those types of things. I live in California btw.

I took my bumper myself and brought it to them ... yes it took them about one week to delete those holes ... as they explained to me it must sit for a few days to dry very good ... that patch moves while it's not 100% dry and it is not safe to paint it. I was lucky because i was going to hawaii that day and it was perfect time for me ... ! I have both 18" and 19" wheels ... now running on 18" ... last week was on 19" ... |
