I had PS2s on mine when I bought the car... they were terrible... now I Falken 452 on the rear. They stick like glue in the dry and are pretty good in the wet too.

sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but i just purchased a set of the vredesteins. They were $960 shipped (4 x 275/30 19). The PSS was going to be $1660 shipped for the same tire size. i will post my thoughts once i get them. Hopefully my feedback will help others decide. My mind is open here so i will give subjective feedback. If they are garbage I will let you guys know. These will be street tires since i have a separate dedicated track car.

Just got them mounted and balanced yesterday and then I installed them on the car last night. I will give feedback after the 300 mile break in.

Vreds take more like 600 miles to break in.
They're really squirley at first and you'll hate them. Just keep driving on them, and they'll really come to life.

I ran both the PS2 and Vreds for HPDE

I enjoyed the linear feel of the Vreds much more. It is a very predictable tire as you know exactly what is going to happen at the track. The sidewalls are much stiffer than the PS2, but it might be because of the 35 vs 40 profile. Regardless, the PS2 is a comfort tire to me. The Vreds are a bit noisier, but I prefer just about everything else of the Vreds.

My lap times were bang on with both tires, both within .200 of seconds, depending on my errors.

Overall for DD, I also prefer the Vreds. In the wet, they are far superior to the PS2. In the dry for DD, they are not harsh. I have yet to try the PSS, and probably never will.

One thing Michelin does very well is the lightness of their tires though. I hope this helps

Did you have the hankook S1 evo (not the V12) in the US?

The PSS is in a different class of tires. If you are comparing Vredstein - it is more in the range of the Hankook V12 Evo.

They have 245/35ZR20 and 285/30ZR20, so only the fronts are barely off from what you want.

I'd go with something with an established reputation and readily available. Considering tires are the most important part of a car: if you can choose between the PSS, clearly a class leading tire with near rave reviews everywhere, or some no name discount brand, why would you ever choose the latter?

Based almost exclusively on the 2 recent Vdred threads and opinions on this subforum (this thread included), I purchased Vdreds online and just mounted them as a replacement for Pilot Sports that came with the car when I purchased it CPO (putting trust in my fellow enthusiasts!).

The main factors for me were opinions of performance on par with other brands, some opinions putting them as high as being on par with PS2's, longer tire life, the fact that I have no concerns in Miami over cold weather driving and of course, price in comparison to other options. I have 255/35/19 and 275/35/19's just mounted this morning on stock 19" rims (fits with no problems) purchased through the internet through Group A wheels, which is linked by the other thread on Vdreds. Price, tax, delivery and mounting, all in at $980. As a comparison, I ran over a screw about 7 months ago and just to replace and mount one of rear Pilot Sports at Tire Kingdom cost me $500.

I will be going to Orlando this weekend and back so I can post my impressions after puting a few hundred miles on them.

Vredestein is a class-leading name brand in Europe. Saying that, Sessantas are likely not in the same class as a PSS.

I too just switched from the PS2's that were on my stock rims to Vred's and granted i've only put a 150 or so miles on them and went much wider on the Vred's (255/35/19 295/30/19) but given my initial driving impression I am very happy with the Vred's! The sidewalls are def stiffer then the PS2's and I feel like the car is def much more well planted on the ground. Granted this may be due to running wider tires but overall I have at the least seen no noticeable difference in the handling of the car switching to the Vred's. Pair that with the fact that the Vred's only cost me ~$1000 vs $16-$1700 for PS2's..i'll do the Vred's all day long

I am very pleased with the Vreds so far. I have put about 500 miles or so on them. The grip is great with thema nd the car feels very planted. I went to a 275 square setup. They probably arent QUITE as good as the PSS, but they feel better than the stock PS2s for sure. for the money they seem like a great performance bargain.
