Agreed....good luck with that. I have come to realize that there is such a thing as being "too intelligent for society". Laws, regulations, etc. are made to govern the masses and are often at odds with people who have a higher intellect and far greater reasoning ability than Joe or Jane Budweiser.

If I see you again I cant write you the same tickets but I will summons you to court where you can do jail time".

WTF!!! At this point I mention that I've lived in the area for over 7 years, have passed numerous police without issue and havent so much as received an infraction in my car of any kind. He says that I havent seen him before and that if he sees me again he will summons me to court.

The kicker is, that this same cop pulled my wife over in her Lexus IS250 for going through a stop sign less than a month ago (which she too is fighting) and he kept mentioning to her stuff about her "nice" car.

So, my question to you fellow M3 owners:

- Have any of you ever received such tickets for your aftermarket exhausts? If so, how did you handle it?
- Have any fellow Canadians (in the Toronto area especially) ever encountered such tickets?
- Should my wife and I file a formal complaint with his division for his behaviour and comments or will this open a can of worms with other cops coming down on us as they do tend to protect their own?

Any feedback you can provide would be appreciated.

I agree with the too intelligent part, but believe it's a societal approach not an individula approach and that's where we can change things.

The problem is society, not individuals. For instance, how many sci-fi movies or movies about science have a positive result? Not many. Also, look at pop culture, what do we deify, beauty and athleticism, which is a societal choice. Change the focus and we change the world. First would discuss with attorney. Consult officers superiors. Go to your local govt official. Go to the media. Start a blog. And if all else fails, stand up and fight

That sucks. Im sorry to hear that. I go to school in Waterloo and last March I got an "Unnecessary Noise" ($110) ticket for, Im not exaggerating, a slight wheel screetch from my bald snow tires as I tries to accelerate off the fist light I came to a stop at. The officer was about 6 cars back and didnt pull me over until he got up and saw me in the car. I wasnt speeding, it was 3:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday and I was going to get groceries. The officer told me I was "Stunting" but burning out off the light and that my exhaust was too loud. I told him my situation with the bald snow tires, where I live, and how my exhaust is stock. He proceeded to threaten me about racing, and asked a lot of annoying questions about my car ex. "Whats with the red brakes?", "Your exhaust wont pass emissions" etc. Im 22 but purchased my car myself, after many years of saving and a few generous engineering work placements. I basically told him calmly I didnt mean to offend him but that didnt help. He set off into me more. I decided to fight the ticket and have a court date on the 10th of October.This is my only ticket in 1 year with my C63. And previous over 3 years ago I have one 15 over speeding ticket. I enjoy driving spirited but am not reckless or dangerous on public roads. Here in Canada the charge cannot go up, however with sufficient evidence they can charge you with a separate charge ex. "Stunting". Ill let you know how my court date goes as it is fast approaching. I was very upset with this ticket considering I didnt make it past 50km/h, and I didnt do a "burn out", and I saw him the whole time. I cant wait to see what he has to say in court.

As for your situation I would fight both of them. This charge is the dumbest charge and shouldnt exist. your response about hearing the other cars on the street was hilarious! I hope it works out! -All the best!
