I already have plans to get this stuff done like I said in this thread. Why I did not do it prior is because I did not have enough reaction time because like I said in the thread I was givin the supercharger offer within a weeks time. I had no plans to get a supercharger this soon I know all the risk. I do not just trust anybody or any shop in my state to mess with the engine of my car. Most of the shops and venders I would trust to tear my engine down or look at the rod bearings are on the West Coast in SoCal or on the East Coast. Most shops in my city have no clue on how to tear the engine down or check anything but they will charge you a arm and a leg to do. For example there is a shop in my state that I thought I could trust to do this Supercharger install on my M3 because they done SC kits on M3's. This place wanted to charge me $1800.00 to have this kit done makes you wonder why I go out of my state to have major stuff done Oh and prior to the install VF performed a leak down test on my engine because of my high miles and warned me of the risk if they install the SC, I gave them the green light.
I would have done the same. I was just curious since you have put so much into it. Congrats and nice car!

Please notice how all the rod bearing replacement comments are coming from non-supercharged members. Rod bearing issue is very over played. Half the blown engines are coused by over revving. Many supercharged m3 get their bearings changed after many many hard driven boosted miles as it is becomes preventative maintenance.
Shady I'm dlad u got everything completed and ready to go.

I am a vehicle mechanic in the military and I know all about preventive maintenance. One of the members on the post had 90,000 plus miles on his M3 and 80,000 of it was from being supercharged. He changed his rod bearings and upgraded his clutch and this is what I plan to have done at the same shop in Florida

I have friends and people I know that had work done by them. From what I have seen on their web site they know what they are doing. Unlike some of the shops here in my area and state that are quick to rip you off and have no clue about how to tear down a E9X M3 engine or work on it. I have no problem taking my car to another state just to make sure and know my M3 is going to be well taking care of.

What an awesome story. Car at 92k miles gets a new lease on life. So refreshing to see she's not a garage queen!

As for the rod bearings, I'd just send the oil to Blackstone and go from there. It's only $25 and if it comes back clean, I wouldn't worry about it. That's IMO of course. I'm all for preventative maintenance too, but at the same time, don't fix what's not broken you know?
