Clutch kits are available, but many are rated for holding capacities that are insufficient for an ESS kit's power output. We've found that the original clutch is very stout, and can hold the power of a 600 or 650 kit for many years when driven by someone that knows how to drive a manual transmission car well. Although I've spoken with people like Quarter Master, and they are willing to create a clutch disc with extra capacity, I have yet to encounter an M3 that has a need for an upgraded clutch.

From what I have heard the DCT transmission can hold A LOT of force, rated more than enough for the 650 kit. The problem I heard about the DCT though is during normal driving conditions, the DCT was programmed to slip the clutch a tiny bit during shifting to make a more smooth gear transition, and under lower power (say stock) this really isn't a problem, but with a high power load, not so much. As Roman said, the DCT software is needed (and its just awesome for all applications lol)
