Getting sponsored

Hey guys, is it a stupid thinking to ask for my company to sponsor my DE costs in return of turning my car into a rolling company billboard? Has anyone tried this?

Depends on a company. If your company has consumer oriented products/services that fit the race fan demographic, you have a chance.

I would not even bother unless you were really good friends with owner. Not your boss, not the CFO, but the owner.

If by "my company" you mean the one you personally own and run, and by "sponsor my DE costs" you mean write off the expenses as advertising... then sure.

This is part of my plan down the road, or just start racing and sponsor myself...I'm working it into the marketing budget

It's a sales-driven engineering firm that looks for investors in construction projects. I guess I could stretch it and say that I see many people from investment firms, which is true.

Well, I talked to our Marketing Manager, and she sounded somewhat interested. We discussed that the company would pay for registration fees & car wrap, if it gets approved. We'll see how this goes.

the only way this works IMO is if you own the company or are buds with the CEO/owner. it is very difficult even to get sponsors at low level racing, much less de.
