Drove my M 6 hours back home after the purchase with only the previous owners hip hop on the HD, good thing we had the same taste in music!

Every time you'll have repair you'll be reminded and wondering if you're still paying for that 1st or 2nd owner abuses. You think you save now but for someone who wants to keep the car i end up winning in the long run.
I used to buy used cars before, no more, cost isn't a factor for me anymore or i wouldn't have bought an m3 in the first place. But hey maybe it made sense for you. I've read enough used m3 buyers bad stories to know many leased m3 get run hard and cold

Good thing you had the sermon ready.

2-hours of gangsta rap- I'm surprised you showed restraint to pop a cap on some wanksta who was disrespecting your baby's mama while beating your kid with a switch

The M3 I ended up purchasing didn't have music loaded in the hard drive, and I have never bothered to use it. I just leave my iPod hooked up via the USB port at all times. I guess I could transfer music to the HD, but that's too much work. The 2nd M3 I test drove had a shit ton of music loaded in its HD though. I cruised around during the test drive listening to the Pulp Fiction soundtrack

When I bought my M used, I found a bunch of weird classical music with country and another folder with kpop. Weird. : Just thought I'd share.
Country Bumpkin music in an ///M car? Delete it. Waste of HD space IMHO.
Yea that was one of the first things I did to my car when I first got home.

I am glad you are happy with the car, and confident in the fact that you are the only owner. If that peace of mind is worth the $20,000+ that you paid for yours over what I paid for mine, then all the power to you.

In most cases, I agree, maintenance history, owner history, and prior usage is sketchy at best on these, or any car, and you really don't know what you've gotten yourself into, especially on prior lease vehicles. In my case though, I know the complete history of my car, from the date and dealers it was purchased from by both previous owners, to every dealer that has ever worked on it and what exactly was done to it, to the prior owners driving habits. I have spoken to both previous owners, and can get in contact with both of them anytime I need to. I have complete dealer maintenance records, and the original owner told me he followed the break-in procedure to the letter. I feel very confident that in my case, the $20k or more that I saved buying used was a good trade off for a peace of mind that the car was unmolested by past owners, because I don't need the reassurance by buying new, as I feel I got an amazingly well taken care of example of a 2 owner, 4 year old car.

What about swamp ass, to some that is a concern I guess. Did you ask previous owners about personal hygiene?

I told the dealer to not clean my car before I bought it. I wanted the full on experience from the perspective of the last owner - swamp ass, jizz stains and all.

How about telephone numbers and home addresses... I bought my latest from a dealer, and found a prescription left in the pages of the owner's manual with the prior owners name and address.

My wife used Cayenne had a ton of addresses left in the Nav. Prior owner went to alot of golf courses.

My 2008 M Roadster had one number in the nav, I called out of curiosity and a woman answered and said she was the po's ex girlfriend, that he was a dick and she had a restraining order.
