German Line Up at Work

Took a quick shot of the row of cars that I park in at work every day. BMW 550i, Benz C63 AMG, Audi S4, sweet 1986 Dodge Caravan, and my AW M3 sticking out in the far right.

Next step, do a straight shot run between the 4 cars. I'm guessing at this elevation the C63 for sure and maybe even the S4 will get me.

It's super cool that some of the guys you work with are somewhat car people. My office thinks I'm insane. "How could anyone wash their car every week?" "Why would you modify a perfectly good car?"

Same here. Huge improvement over last 5 series, which was the worst of the bangles.

This is the weak-sauce line up too. Executive row features not 1, not 2, but 3 911's, a Lotus Elise, a Ferrari F430, a Lambo Murcielago, an Audi R8, a Benz SL65 AMG, a Panamera, another Benz SL55 AMG Renntech, and a few others. We're just the mid-level German line up.

What the hell company you work for?

People I work with think I'm absolutely nuts for spending $60k on an M3.

Great group of cars! I think you could take the S4 for sure. They aren't that quick with the supercharged v6 in them and their curb weight.

@ ADV.1 Matt: Utah altitude of 4,500 ft is not the friend of the mighty M3 (or any NA motor).

How do you know?
We actually did a good run last night after work. Both cars using launch control and we had a perfect start. At this elevation the S4 is running door to door from a dead stop to 80mph.

I was surprised to see the M3 stayed with the S4 from a dead stop. Them Quattro's launch HARD.

Next time we'll get video...

I work for a local start-up company that did well. We were finally acquired by a giant enterprise.

For some reason people think when you have a nice car that it's ok to jump into a conversation about income. I've had multiple strangers come up to me and the second thing they say is, "How much money do you make, what do you do for a living?"

My responses range now from professional bull trainer to Thai ping pong show correspondent.

I only ask because those were a lot of really expensive cars you listed. I work at the international hq of a fortune 500 company and the execs here don't even drive cars as expensive as an M3. That's nuts you have so many people at your office with cars that cost six figures.

Any chance we work for sister companies? Is your parent company based in Denver?

I was just out in Utah for a 'social summit' between a bunch of our sister companies. Beautiful scenery out there.
